周玉淑,研究员、博士生导师。1971年生。1995年本科毕业于南京气象学院天气动力学专业,1998年在中国气象科学研究院获得气象学硕士学位,2002年在开云登录入口手机版 获得气象学博士学位。

研究工作围绕台风、暴雨及强对流系统结构演变分析及发展机理展开。通过中尺度系统动力诊断新方法、暴雨及强对流天气过程的数值模拟分析和地面降水定量诊断,研究了台风、暴雨及强对流系统的结构演变、发生发展动力过程及其与降水强度和落区的关系。主要是发展和改进了有限区域调和-余弦水平风场无旋和无辐散的分解方法,并用于研究中尺度系统动力结构及其配置;建立了位势高度平衡及非平衡的分解方法,并应用于中尺度系统动力结构的分析研究;推广了等s坐标中气压梯度力的分解方法,实现了等s面上天气系统与地形影响的分离。利用动力诊断方法研究了暴雨中尺度系统动力和热力结构,并认为非平衡位势高度激发出的气压梯度力是驱动大气运动加速的重要原因;推导并利用平流涡度方程,揭示了涡旋系统的涡度变化特征。发表论文70篇(其中SCI 33篇)。
